This policy explains what mymoodsapp collects, why, and how long we keep it. The product is a private journal. We do not sell your data and we do not run a public feed of entries.
who we are
mymoodsapp is operated at https://mymoodsapp.com. For privacy questions, email hello@mymoodsapp.com.
what we collect
Account. When you sign in with Google we store an email address and a unique identifier from Firebase Authentication. We do not receive your Google password. Display name and profile photo stay in Firebase Auth (from Google, or edited in-app); they are not stored in our Postgres database.
Journal. Mood scores, optional text you write, and timestamps. These are stored in our database (Postgres) keyed to your account, not posted publicly.
Technical. Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, request time) may be generated by our hosting providers (Vercel for the website, Railway for the API and database) to operate and secure the service.
how we use it
We use your data to authenticate you, show you your own journal, and (when those features are enabled) generate weekly summaries or answer questions about your history using an AI provider. Those features run on your entries only — they are not used to train a public model on your behalf beyond the provider's own terms.
We do not use journal text for advertising. We do not sell personal information.
who else sees it
Processors that help us run the app:
- Firebase (Google) — authentication
- Railway — API and database hosting
- Vercel — website hosting
- Anthropic — only if you use AI summary or ask features, and only on the entries needed for that request
We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the service against abuse.
cookies and similar tech
Authentication uses browser storage (and, for Google sign-in, cookies set by Google). See the cookies policy for details. We do not use advertising cookies.
how long we keep it
Account and journal data stay until you delete entries or close your account. You can delete individual entries in the app. To delete your account and remaining data, email hello@mymoodsapp.com from the address on the account.
your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or to object to certain processing. Email hello@mymoodsapp.com to make a request. You may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.
children
mymoodsapp is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country). Do not create an account if you are under that age.
changes
If we change this policy in a material way, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use after the update means you accept the revised policy.
